We have exciting news to announce, Lingo Flamingo in conjunction with Icecream Architecture are developing an AI based system to assist our learners with their language journeys. The decision was taken to provide a more stream-lined and enhanced service and to incorporate an AI based system alongside our learning portal Eflock. The development of the programme will take between 7-9 months, and we hope to launch the programme by our Autumn Semester 2024.

What will the AI programme do?
24/7 Language Assistance with Chatbots:
Chatbots will be available within the E-flock Learning platform to assist students at any time. They can help with language queries, offer pronunciation feedback, and provide support with grammar and vocabulary.
Interactive Chatrooms based on the student’s chosen capability level:
E-flock Learning’s chatrooms will be interactive and practical with AI integration based on each student’s chosen capability level. Students can engage in real-time conversations with bots to hone their conversational skills.
Diverse Chatbot Personas:
Customisable chatbot personas will be introduced, allowing students to interact with chatbots that possess unique personalities and cultural backgrounds. This adds an enjoyable and culturally immersive aspect to language learning.
Effortless Automatic Translations:
Automatic translation tools will be integrated into the E-flock Learning platform, enabling students to translate text, audio, or video content between their target language and their native language. This feature expands access to global language resources.
What will I be able to do in a nutshell?
You will be able to write and speak with an online persona who will be able to ask you questions and have conversations. The chatbot will provide you with vocabulary on particular subject matters, can correct your grammar and can produce texts for you to read on a wide range of subjects. It can provide a very tailored level of language support and is effective for all of our students regardless of levels.
Will I still have access to the Eflock?
Yes, all students will still have access to our Eflock. The AI programme is supplementary to our Eflock platform and will enhance our students’ learning opportunities 🎉
Will I need to pay more to use it?
No, all students who are registered for our classes can use the AI programme if they are a Lingo Flamingo student.
Will we still receive a Collin’s grammar book when we sign up for a Lingo Flamingo Course?
As part of the developing of our AI programme, we are no longer providing students with the Collins workbook. We made this decision for two reasons; the new AI programme will as described above provide students with a much wider learning experience and we also want to reduce our carbon footprint in line with our environmental policy. It is not a cost cutting measure as the money saved by not buying the grammar books is paying for the development of our new AI system. In addition, in our Lingo library in the nest, we have bought 12 grammar books for each language so students can use them in class if they wish to do so 📚
